OUR LAST WEEK!!!

Hello everyone! I hope everyone is having a great last few days with their students! I can't believe there's only 3 more days left!?! Time flies! Today Patty and I taught a lesson on Utah hero's. It went well and we have really developed such a fun bond with our students and they seem to trust us! Tomorrow is our last lesson- it's a review so we'll be playing a few different games with the kids to summarize what we've taught them in all our other lessons! It really has been such a fun experience and we probably have the best most well behaved kids ever! Not to mention the sweetest :) They love giving us hugs, asking our opinion on things, etc. They really do make you see the positive in things, even when you're sick and having a rough day :) It will be bittersweet to be done with field and be back in the classroom. We also have a fun little joke activity planned for our last day on Friday, but I hope it goes well, so in case not, I'll post about it later! I also wanted to just thank Patty for being such a great partner! It's been so much fun working closely with her everyday! She's the best! Hope you're all having as much fun as we are!

halfway there...

Well it's the middle of our second week, so field experience is halfway over! It will be bittersweet! It has been nice not having to go to class but it has been a lot of work and stressful at times making sure our lessons work out! Patty and I taught two lessons this week..the first in front of our cooperating supervisor. Unfortunately, I became sick that morning and had to leave in the middle of our lesson, so that was pretty embarrassing! Luckily everyone understood and they made me feel good for still attempting to come to school everyday ( thanks Patty :) ) Our lessons have gone well and we've gotten a lot of constructive criticism that we will be able to remember and apply to our own classrooms one day! It has been so fun developing bonds with the children. They're so sweet and we are really lucky to have such a great cooperating teacher and class!

FIRST WEEK!!!

Patty and I successfully finished our first week in field! We taught one lesson on Wednesday and it went really well! I love the kids in our class! They are such sweet and thoughtful students! Fourth grade is a good age! They're old enough where it's not strictly babysitting, but they're not too old that they're attitude-nal, as my sister would say, and they're not screaming to get out of elementary school yet! They were really receptive to our lesson on the explorers Escalante and Dominguez! We did a fun mini field trip where we pretended they were explorers experiencing bad weather, hunger, etc, and they were all acting so great! I cannot forget to mention our cooperating teacher! She's so wonderful and such a great example of organization, behavior management, and everything! These next 2 weeks should be even more fun!
